Mick Cooke was trumpet player and bassist with Belle & Sebastian for fifteen years before leaving in 2013 to concentrate on composing full-time.
Belle & Sebastian have sold over one million records in the US alone, and toured the world several times over, including sold out shows at London’s Albert Hall and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl.
In addition to winning a BRIT Award for Best British Newcomers in 1999, the band has been nominated for an Ivor Novello award, and the Mercury Music Prize.
Mick has been composing for the screen since 2007. He is the composer on two international animated pre-school TV shows, Boj (CBeebies) and two seasons of Zack & Quack (Nick Jr.).
He’s so cleverly delivered some great songs that I think are going to relate to viewers of all ages.
Great results, personable, expert, on time, high integrity and creative - Mick ticks all the boxes!
His musical talent, scoring and songwriting ability, professionalism and general high spirit, left a lasting mark on the show.
